Rebecca Parsons (Becky) M.Ost

Registered Osteopath and Massage Therapist

BOOK TREATMENT

Becky (Rebecca) is a qualified osteopath, sports massage and deep tissue massage therapist, registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). In addition to this Becky is a AXA PPP, Vitality, Aviva and WPA registered osteopath along with all other major insurance companies (except BUPA).

Becky’s first venture into health care started when she competed in trampolining competitions. Unfortunately she became injured and ended up seeing both a physiotherapist and an osteopath. Watching how both worked independently and collaboratively, along with her interest in human sciences Becky decided to enrol at the largest osteopathic teaching establishment on a 5 year part time course. Becky completed her osteopathy Masters at the University College of Osteopathy (UCO) in London (formerly the British School of Osteopath / BSO).

During her time at the UCO Becky seeked to make the most of her time and she completed her Level 3 Sports Massage course allowing her to expand and further her understanding of treating soft tissue injuries and conditions. Becky is also trained to provide Deep Tissue Massage and will be completing her pregnancy massage course in February 2021. A fantastic opportunity arose where Becky took part in the UCO’s student exchange programme with Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. This was an amazing time for Becky whereby she was able to get involved with Australian sports teams, understand how clinics in Australia function and also got an opportunity to attend a specialist clinic in the indigenous community.

“The student exchange programme allowed me to travel to the other side of the world to see how health care and osteopathy are provided to the local residents of Melbourne. It was a fantastic time of my life and an experience that I will never forget.”

Since graduating Becky has been working in and around London, including work with the Crystal Palace Football academy and Beckenham Rugby Football Club (RFC). Becky has had extensive training in developing her clinical assessment and treatment skills, including manual soft tissue techniques and joint mobilisation and manipulation techniques, and loves putting these into practice to help as many people as she can. Whilst Becky is proficient in treating all kinds of injuries and conditions, she has keen interest and specialism in sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain, in particular those such as shoulder dysfunction, acute neck injuries and chronic headaches. Becky’s medical and technical skills along with her passion for healthcare allows her to create comprehensive treatment plans which can help and assist with injuries, aches and pain, getting you back to what you love doing.

“It was a sporting injury which ended my enjoyment of competitive trampolining, this didn’t mean that I couldn’t help get others back to their love of sports and daily activity. Working as an osteopath allows me to do that and more and is a profession whereby I love going to work each day!”

When Becky is not working or updating her medical knowledge, Becky likes to spend her time playing sports, in particular tag rugby usually at the John Orwell Sports Centre. Additionally Becky is partial to a computer game and also loves techno music and often attends some of the festivals that London has to offer. Finally Becky has a passion to help people and whilst her work life is centered around humans, during her free time she volunteers at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

“Overall I just love to help others regardless of whether they are human or not. My time at Battersea Dogs and Cats home also allows me to unwind from the physical aspects of my job as an osteopath.”

Becky has attended and many CPD lectures and courses during and after her osteopathy studies in order to maintain and develop her knowledge. These include:
