“The student exchange programme allowed me to travel to the other side of the world to see how health care and osteopathy are provided to the local residents of Melbourne. It was a fantastic time of my life and an experience that I will never forget.”
Since graduating Becky has been working in and around London, including work with the Crystal Palace Football academy and Beckenham Rugby Football Club (RFC). Becky has had extensive training in developing her clinical assessment and treatment skills, including manual soft tissue techniques and joint mobilisation and manipulation techniques, and loves putting these into practice to help as many people as she can. Whilst Becky is proficient in treating all kinds of injuries and conditions, she has keen interest and specialism in sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain, in particular those such as shoulder dysfunction, acute neck injuries and chronic headaches. Becky’s medical and technical skills along with her passion for healthcare allows her to create comprehensive treatment plans which can help and assist with injuries, aches and pain, getting you back to what you love doing.
“It was a sporting injury which ended my enjoyment of competitive trampolining, this didn’t mean that I couldn’t help get others back to their love of sports and daily activity. Working as an osteopath allows me to do that and more and is a profession whereby I love going to work each day!”
When Becky is not working or updating her medical knowledge, Becky likes to spend her time playing sports, in particular tag rugby usually at the John Orwell Sports Centre. Additionally Becky is partial to a computer game and also loves techno music and often attends some of the festivals that London has to offer. Finally Becky has a passion to help people and whilst her work life is centered around humans, during her free time she volunteers at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
“Overall I just love to help others regardless of whether they are human or not. My time at Battersea Dogs and Cats home also allows me to unwind from the physical aspects of my job as an osteopath.”
Becky has attended and many CPD lectures and courses during and after her osteopathy studies in order to maintain and develop her knowledge. These include:
